Node.js is a fast, scalable server-side runtime built on Chrome's V8 JavaScript engine. Its event-driven, non-blocking I/O model makes it possible to build lightweight, efficient applications. By taking JavaScript out of the browser and onto the server, Node.js offers the advantage of using a single language for both front-end and back-end development.

For security and performance, Node.js provides a strong foundation.
